An animated video explains sustainable forest management: what it is, how it creates job opportunities, and helps to contain climate change.
Sustainable forest management: why talk about it? What are the benefits for the average Italian citizen?

The answer is multifaceted. The forest, in fact, is not only an essential part of the Italian landscape but represents a resource to be protected and valued.
In particular, sustainable forest management:

We propose a short video to explain with extreme clarity what it is. But we must first address two points.
1. A DEFINITION OF
The Conference In 1993, the Ministry for the protection of forests in Europe defined sustainable forest use as “the management and use of forests and forest lands in ways and at rates of use that maintain biodiversity, productivity, renewability, vitality, and the potential to fulfill, now and in the future, important ecological, economic, and social functions at local, national, and global levels, without causing damage to other ecosystems.” Extremely succinct: cutting fewer trees than grow each year.
2. ITALIAN WOOD: DOES IT DECREASE OR GROW?
Contrary to what you might think, in Italy, the forest is growing! By how much? By 1,000 m² every minute. The Italian forest area now covers nearly 10 million hectares. And every year, the wood grows by a volume of 32.5 million cubic meters, while wood harvesting from the forest (with tree cutting for construction materials and biomass for energy purposes) amounted to only 7.7 million cubic meters.
non-employment/business, think for example of the biomass market But are we sure this is good news? Such a low value of wood extraction clearly shows how, in reality, the Italian forest is not managed or utilized and is therefore in a state of neglect. In terms of: a growing sector (firewood production accounts for over 70% of the harvest), but Italy imports more than 2/3 of its needs.
THE VIDEO-EX
Here is a video that explains sustainable forest management: what it is, the difference between managed and unmanaged forests, and how it represents the best choice for containing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere and thus combating changes.
